ZOMBIES Eat Cake Too

Sometimes it’s good to give kids what they want even if it means covering the house in blood and teeth.

Zombies will always be cool. I was ecstatic when the kids told me what theme party they wanted. I had so many ideas but I wanted to let them help as much as possible.

Zombie cake and brains

I made a double layer chocolate sheet with a thick layer of raspberry (blood) in the middle. The face is a rice crispy treat covered in fondant. The mouth was left open so that the kids could decide on what they want to come out of his mouth. We settled on creepy crawly worms. The gummy worms were rolled in Cocoa powder. This really is an incredibly easy cake to make. It’s supposed to look gross so it’s kind of a hard thing to mess up. We also made cupcakes decorated with chocolate icing, worms, and crushed Oreo.

I made various jello body parts and displayed them under a red light. I put them on silver platters and set out silverware and plastic rats. The gelatin molds are surprisingly easy to use and very affordable.

These are the molds we used. You can click on the photos to get more information and to purchase.

As far as the rest of the decorations the possibilities are endless. We picked up the basics here though Zombie Standard Party Packs (65+ Pieces for 16 Guests!), Zombie Party Supplies, Decorations, Birthdays, Tableware
